Your First Visit

Visiting a church can be an intimidating experience. We are honored that you are considering doing so. Here’s what you can expect when you visit our worship service.

WORSHIP TIME  10:00 am (Central)
Traditional Style Worship is held each Sunday in the Sanctuary.
Come as you are! You can attend our service in-person or through our online livestream by clicking Watch online.
  • Dress at this service can be casual or one’s “Sunday best.” You’ll find our folks do some of both.
  • This service is led musically by our Chancel Choir, who typically invite us into worship with an introit and deepen our worship experience with a thematically appropriate anthem.
  • A Children’s Sermon is an integral part of our worship service. We encourage children to remain in the sanctuary and to participate with the congregation.
  • Attendance at this service skews a little older, but you’ll find a variety of types of people worshipping together, including families, retirees living on Lake Wedowee, and lifelong residents of Wedowee.
  • The service runs approximately one hour.
  • An offering is taken, but we consider your visit to be an offering to God.
  • We’ll greet you warmly, but never put you on the spot to introduce yourself publicly.
  • We have opportunities to take next steps in your spiritual journey, but will never put pressure on you to respond in ways you’re uncomfortable with or not ready for.
  • Communion is generally celebrated on the first Sunday of the month as well as during a few other special occasions during the year.
Before the Service:
  • Doors open an hour prior to the worship service.
  • Enter through the main Sanctuary doors, or via the portico for those needing handicap access.
During the Service:
  • A worship bulletin will be given to you or directions will be provided on the screens that guide you through the service with Scripture, responsive readings, hymns, and announcements.
  • Online giving will be available or offering plates will be distributed by ushers.
After the Service:
  • The ministers will be in the Narthex to greet attendees following the service.
  • Be sure to introduce yourself!
  • We want you to feel at home here.

In addition to our weekly Sunday Services, we typically have special services for:
  • Christmas Eve
  • Ash Wednesday
  • Noonday Holy Week
