On Sunday, February 27, Wedowee First UMC will participate in an intentional pulpit swap with Haven Memorial and St. Thomas United Methodist Churches. Rev. Dr. Thomas Muhomba will lead worship at Wedowee First UMC and Pastor Todd will lead worship at Haven Memorial UMC in Alexander City and St. Thomas UMC in Sylacauga. The pulpit exchange is part of a larger effort promoted by the North Alabama Conference Advocacy for Social Justice Team. Dr. Kevin Thomas, chair of the team, states, “The North Alabama Advocacy for Social Justice Team is dreaming of a time when worship will more closely resemble the wonderful diversity of the kingdom of heaven. We’re asking our churches to take a small step in that direction as we “Worship Together” in February 2022.”
